Name: Eric Bortoletto Fontes. Degree: Law, 5th year. Origin: State University of the North of Paraná – CCSA/CJ. Destination: University of Porto. Period: 02/2017 until 07/2017. Type of Modality: Universia Santander. "This student exchange provided by UENP has been definitely the best opportunity I could get. I could summarize the six months living in Portugal as follows: attending one of the best universities in the world, travelling around the whole continent and making lots of friends. Apart from this, the cultural and academic development was enormous. The theoretical improvement in various legal materials such as the use of English and Spanish in different situations became a great contribution to my overall studies. I could easily adapt, even if the understanding of Portuguese spoken there has been at the beginning quite difficult since Lusitanians’ rhythm of speech is different and words have often another meaning. Concerning my studies, I could attend courses I’ve chosen on my own, soI opted for Law, International Public Law and Criminology, such as History of Criminology and Forensic Science as these are not offered in Brazilian courses of graduation. Besides, I had been selected with 1300 other exchange students coming from 84 countries to participate in a program called School without Borders, organized by the Chamber of Porto together with the University of Porto. This program was about a lecture for students in basic education, talking about Brazil, the exchange, our university’s origin and our course. Finally, words cannot express all I have experienced and for how grateful I am. I thank for Prof. Eliane Segati and also prof. Soraya Saad for all the support and help I received."
