"An exchange program is an incredible experience.
Barraquilla is a warm and beautiful city. It has modern buildings, good restaurants, various shopping centers and a good public transport system. However, there is a problem with the infrastructure of water drainage, so when it was raining heavily all activities were suspended in the city. Still it was a good experience to face contrasts and to draw one’s own conclusions.
I had my accommodation in the house of a student’s family of CUC, Alvaro. It was more like a hostel with three meals a day and various rooms. So I lived together with 9 other Mexican girls. This provided me with the opportunity to get to know their culture from the cooking traditions through their language to their music. Sometimes it was difficult to understand their Spanish, but every day it became better. The Columbian people are also really nice.
A nation of the coastline, so friendly and helpful. They love going out and dance to all Latin rhythms such as Salsa, Merengue, Reggeaton, Champeta. The faculty is huge offering a lot of free time activities. I had a wonderful time for which I would like to thank for UENP, Eliane Segati Rios Registro, the Coordinator of International Relations and Prof. Soraya saad Lopes, the Coordinator of the Legal Department. I highly respect my university and tell everyone what excellent study opportunity Jacarezinho/PR offers."
